What is a Galaxy Lens?

The RayOne Galaxy is the latest intraocular lens (IOL) available to patients, using revolutionary AI-Designed spiral optic technology, to precisely manage the light entering your eye.

The RayOne Galaxy is designed to provide you with high quality distance, intermediate and near vision without glasses.

Compared with the older generation of Diffractive (Light Splitting) Multifocal Intraocular lens, the Galaxy Lens achieves a seamless high quality full-range of vision, with minimal halo and glare, and minimal loss of contrast sensitivity.

Why Medical Eye Clinic?

The Medical Eye Clinic is the first centre in the Southwest to implant the Galaxy Lens.

Patient Feedback

Tony - Cataract surgery with Galaxy Lens Implant April 2025

I would like to put on record my delight at the result of my recent surgery for cataracts:

My hobbies include reading, choral singing, theatre and orchestral concerts, playing golf and watching live cricket – all having different focussing requirements.  I thought that it set quite a task for Mr Ling to accommodate with replacement lenses.  But, the result has been spectacular and I cannot thank Mr Ling and his team enough.

To say that I am delighted is an understatement!  Please pass on my thanks to everyone involved.

Fran - Cataract surgery with Galaxy Lens Implant March/April 2025

I wanted to show my appreciation to all the staff at the Medical Eye Clinic for the excellent care I was given for my cataract operations.

I have always been worried by the idea of having cataract operations but after a telephone conversation with the lead nurse I was reassured that my concerns would be considered and that having the sedative would mean I was not panicked by the surgery. I was able to go ahead without getting overwhelmed by anxiety and in fact felt very supported by all the staff so please thank everyone.

I also felt very confident in Mr Ling after he explained so well how the operation would go and what might be the best lens for me. I understood that the Ray Pro Galaxy that would give vision at all distances.

I am so pleased that I can now see and read everything. At this point after the surgery there is still some adjustment and settling in for both eyes working together but it looks as if I will not need glasses. It is freeing not to have to keep getting glasses out for things like parking meters, instructions on food packaging and the minor down side is I can now see the dust in my house and what needs cleaning!!
